In this video, we can get some information about the osmosis process...
Osmosis process is the movement of substances from high concentration place to the lower concentration place. So the things that do the osmosis process doesn't need any energy to absorb water from high concentration to the lower concentration place. The example of this process is on the plants, plants didn't need any energy to absorb water from the soil, they all just do the osmosis process in their roots. But when the plants grow larger, they need energy, because the concentration of water inside the plant is higher than in the soil because they absorb a lot of water from the soil every time, so they need to do active transport that make the roots absorb the water from the soil and use their energy.
